🔐 BYOAI — Bring Your Own API Key

To keep your data private and your costs extremely low, the app uses your personal OpenAI API key.

Why this is better:

• Your audio never goes through anyone else’s server
• You only pay for what you use (usually a few cents per video)
• No subscription, no paywalls
• Maximum privacy and transparency

Where to get your API key:

1. Go to https://platform.openai.com/
2. Log in (or create an account)
3. Open API Keys
4. Click Create new secret key
5. Copy it and paste it into the app (Settings → API Key)

Your key is stored locally in:

C:\Users\<YourName>\.video_to_md\config.json

You can delete or modify this file at any time.
